Looking back on 2020

A letter from Robert Crone, CEO

To me, the end of the year is always a good time to reflect. On events, achievements, mistakes, and everything else that happened during the year.

Covid and getting used to working from home

I cannot reflect on 2020 without addressing the elephant in the room that made this year extra challenging: the covid pandemic. As for so many others, the lockdown period in Spring proved a difficult time, both from a personal perspective as well as from a company director’s perspective. Nevertheless, I quickly realized how lucky I am to have such a reliable and professional team. We strived to make the best of the situation and although delays in the development of our product were inevitable, we found lasting solutions to be able to continue development, from home if need be.

Achievements

Despite these and other challenges, this year has seen some great results. If I look back at the beginning of the year – when we thought we were almost ready to launch a prototype – and at where we stand now – where we know we are almost ready to launch our prototype – I can be nothing but proud.

Furthermore, I’m excited how our team has grown personally and professionally through the last year. Overcoming the obstacles in the last year has improved our effectiveness as well as our enjoyment of working together and learning from our differences. Two new individuals have joined us, with expertise in software engineering, marketing and graphic design, completing the skillset we needed for our milestones last year. As they say, a startup’s greatest asset is its team, and I consider ours invaluable.

Next year

Let me give you a sneak peek at what you can expect from us in the near future.

  • Launch of the Fusion Reflex 1.0. A MAJOR milestone. We have been working towards this for almost three years and we are close to an actual release. Stay tuned for updates.
  • New hiring activity. With the launch of the Reflex 1.0, we plan to ramp up testing activity and are looking for technical and commercial talent to further strengthen the team. Do you know an experienced sales professional looking for a new challenge? Introduce us.
  • Raising equity capital. To further fund development, we are looking to raise capital around Q2 2021. We are always looking to expand our network, so if you know someone who might be interested, be sure to reach out.

To conclude

Finally, year’s end is a time to show appreciation and in that spirit: thank you. Thank you for your time reading this, thank you for your continued involvement with our company and thank you for following our journey. 2020 has been a wild ride, yet I remain confident that 2021 will be another amazing year for us.

On behalf of my co-founder Mara and the rest of the team, I wish you Happy Holidays.

See you next year.

Yours,

Robert Crone
